On September 25, 2025, Dental Health Day will be celebrated once again – and our Natch motto is also the theme of the day: “Health starts in the mouth!” This year's theme fits perfectly with our dental care concept: “The superpower of saliva.”
The aim of this day is to inform as many people as possible about oral, dental, and jaw health and to show how we can prevent disease – through good routines, education, and small, daily steps.
Your saliva is a real all-rounder – perhaps even the most underrated superhero in your body:
If saliva flow is disrupted, the risk of tooth decay, gum inflammation, and other complaints increases significantly. That's why it's so important to take it seriously as a natural protection and support it with the right care, such as our toothpaste formulas.
Saliva is a real all-rounder in our mouth,” emphasizes Prof. Dr. Christoph Benz, President of the German Dental Association. “It makes basic functions such as speaking, swallowing, and eating possible in the first place.” In addition, thanks to its high calcium and phosphate content, it promotes the remineralization of tooth enamel. After eating, saliva neutralizes harmful acids in the oral cavity and quickly reincorporates valuable minerals into the teeth."
Our Natch toothpaste tabs work hand in hand with your superpower saliva – because it enables our tabs to release their healthy ingredients!
✨ No water required: simply chew, saliva activates the foam, and the active ingredients are evenly distributed in your mouth.
🦷 No fluoride, but with hydroxyapatite (HAp): Supports your saliva in remineralizing tooth enamel.
🌿 Gentle & microbiome-friendly: No aggressive additives—we give your oral flora the space it needs.
♻️ Healthy, sustainable, plastic-free, and resource-saving.
Together with you and your saliva, we harness a natural superpower that protects and strengthens your teeth.
Saliva has one weakness: some of its components accumulate on the surface of the teeth. On the one hand, this biofilm protects the enamel, but on the other hand, it provides a docking surface for bacterial plaque. If this is not removed regularly, there is a risk of caries and periodontitis (inflammation of the periodontium).
In this context, the German Association of Dentists in the Public Health Service (BZÖG) emphasizes the importance of individual and group prophylaxis. “Both help to effectively maintain the microbiome of the oral cavity in a healthy (dental) balance and support the miraculous juice that is saliva in its many protective functions.” The outreach and low-threshold group prophylaxis services introduce children to the topic of oral hygiene at an early age. Young people from families with poorer access to healthcare benefit particularly from this.
Oral health plays an important role for the entire body.
The oral microbiome serves as the mouth's immune system; it can both strengthen and weaken the organism and has a direct impact on the body and gut microbiome. Around 700 species of bacteria thrive in the mouth – on the teeth, tongue, palate, and even on the lips. The balance of these microorganisms is crucial for preventing diseases such as tooth decay, periodontitis, and other oral infections. If there are disturbances in the oral microbiome—for example, due to synthetic ingredients in toothpaste—this has a direct impact on our health. This includes various oral health problems and even systemic diseases such as diabetes or cardiovascular problems.
