Aging Is Not a Disease – It’s an Invitation to Go Deeper! Pro-Aging, Spirituality and Holistic Health at the Long Gravity Salon with Elena Lustig

“Aging is not a disease – it’s an invitation to grow into your own depth.”

With this thought, Elena Lustig opened our second Long Gravity Salon – and that is exactly what we talked about that evening: aging as a conscious, powerful phase of life.

Together with pro-aging activist, yoga teacher, author, and speaker Elena Lustig, we explored how we can shape aging with dignity, self-care, and depth. Instead of working against our own bodies, the focus was on rebuilding a relationship with them – physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Pro-Aging Means Saying Yes to Life

We discussed what pro-aging truly means. Not denial, not optimization at any cost, but a wholehearted yes to life in all its phases. Elena made it clear how strongly Western performance culture and anti-aging thinking disconnect us from our own vitality – and how much strength arises when we take responsibility for ourselves.

This attitude concerns not only mind and soul, but also our bodies in everyday life: how we sleep, how we eat, how we breathe – and how we care for our health in small, daily ways.

Holistic Health Begins in the Mouth

One compelling idea that ran through the evening: health is always holistic. Physical vitality, mental stability, and inner clarity cannot be separated.

Topics such as dental health and oral care are part of the bigger picture. A healthy oral microbiome plays an important role in our immune system – and therefore in our overall well-being. When inflammation is reduced and the body is not constantly in defense mode, it positively affects our energy, mood, and mental health.

This is exactly where Natch comes in: with our natural, bioactive toothpaste tablets that rethink dental care and fit perfectly into your daily routine – healthy, effective, and consciously developed as part of a sustainable lifestyle.

Rituals, Self-Care & Inner Grounding

We talked about how rituals – yoga, meditation, morning routines – can stabilize us in everyday life. Not as another task on the to-do list, but as an anchor. Elena openly shared her own practice and emphasized that self-care does not require perfection, but presence and honesty.

This kind of grounding – Long Gravity in everyday life – helps us reduce stress, sleep better, and reconnect with our bodies. A stable nervous system and a healthy immune system work together – physically and mentally.

Visibility, Fears and the Power of Community

Another central point: many women feel invisible as they grow older. We spoke about the fears behind this feeling – and about how clarity, community, and self-acceptance can create new strength. Elena encouraged radical visibility: not loud, but authentic.

Death as a Teacher for Conscious Living

Particularly moving was Elena’s insight into her work in Buddhist end-of-life care. She shared how consciously engaging with death has taken away her fear – and why this awareness helps us live more deeply, calmly, and fully.

Longevity or Pro-Aging?

We discussed the difference between a purely performance-oriented longevity mindset and a pro-aging approach that values depth over optimization. Instead of always wanting more, it is about feeling more deeply, making more conscious decisions, and taking responsibility for body, mind, and environment.
